Six sentences from my writing for the week:
Darcy Lewis walked the hallways of Carter High like a warrior striding into battle. To be fair, the analogy was not far off. One thing she learned within days of starting high school – the weak or fearful were easy prey and fair targets for the popular cliques. Cheerleaders, jocks, and the muckety-mucks pretty much ruled the hallways while the teachers just tried to keep the worst of the offenses under control. In other words, if no one was broken or bleeding, it was see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil as status quo.
Yeah, she didn’t like it either.
