Day 3 - Your OTP
Okay, this is the kind of day where I'm fumbling for an answer. I hate picking just one. I have multiple OTP's - it all depends on the mood I'm in! Instead of just picking one and giving a throwaway answer, below you will find a bunch of my favorites. Some may show up again depending on what the rest of the days are.
So, in no particular order...

CSI: New York - Mac & Stella - They are such wonderful friends. Their banter is almost always uplifting and fun, plus they have a comfort level there. A level that says it's okay to break down or lash out because understanding and acceptance is available. This was one friendship I thought had the chance to grow into something more.

Criminal Minds - Aaron & Emily - I love this couple. They have a dark beauty between them, and they both really need someone who understands what they see everyday. They need someone who will catch them when they fall. Both of them have a protective but nurturing vibe to them.

NCIS - Gibbs & Kate - These two (most particularly in the pilot) gave such a wonderful back-forth performance. By the end, you could really see a strong sense of respect between them. Gibbs needs someone who is not afraid to stand up to him while I felt Kate needed someone who would let her be strong and kick-ass while still being totally feminine.

Sailor Moon - Bunny & Darien - I enjoyed this pairing quite a bit. She's so spastic and goofy while he's way too serious half the time. Even without the "fated past", they would have made a good opposites-attract pairing. On the outside they are so different, while on the inside both of them are drawn to protect others.

Tin Man - DG & Cain - The fairytale story of a hidden princess and the "heartless" man she rescues told in a funny and captivating way. Cain is probably too old for DG in my usual sensibilities, but I can't give this one up. She has a tendency to run off as soon as something catches her attention leaving him to tag along and try to protect her.

Thor - Jane & Thor - These two are fun. The brilliant and beautiful (I'm so jealous) scientist and the misplaced alien/god of thunder make up a story of growth and acceptance. She teaches him how to love unselfishly while he shows her an acceptance she hasn't found in her own world. Both of them learn to look beyond their own tiny focus and see the world around them with new eyes.

Harry Potter - Harry & Hermione - Throughout the entire series, theirs was the most stable relationship. Despite a rocky start, once they became friends, they never divided - even the friendship between Ron & Harry cannot make that claim. Hermione believed Harry even when others thought him crazy or a liar. Harry never (that I can recall) scoffed at her knowledge or love of books. They worked together to find ways to defeat Voldemort and other various bad guys.

Lord of the Rings - Faramir & Eowyn - The warrior with the scholar's heart and the maiden with a fighter's spirit - what a pair! I loved these two. I love the balance they have between them. He has no desire to cage her spirit and she will be the safety for his gentle heart.

The Inspector Lynley Mysteries - Thomas & Barbara - These two were thrown together to investigate a murder, and it was sparks from the very beginning. He is a nobleman while she comes from the poor side of town. Neither of them have much in common, but they make a fascinating partnership. Together, against all expectations, they become one of the greatest assets of the police force. While both of them pursue other romantic interests, at the end of the day, they only really count on each other.

Torchwood - Jack & Gwen - Yep, I am not a Janto shipper. Well, I don't really ship slash, so that wasn't a hard guess. However, I really do enjoy these two. They bring out the best in each other, even when they're arguing. She reminds him of what its like to be human while he gives her a wonderful new world to protect. There is a mutual respect there; you get the feeling he trusts her (and vice versa) in ways they don't trust anyone else.

Battlestar Galactica - Bill & Laura - I couldn't resist this pairing from the very beginning. Both of them are trying so hard to keep their people alive. Even when they're going head-to-head, there is a respect and admiration present. She wants to keep people alive while he gives them a reason to live. They became "Mom & Dad" in a very strong way.

Stargate Atlantis - Jennifer & Ronon - The "almost" canon 'ship for SGA. They were sooo close. I enjoy the "opposites attract" theme, and they fit the bill. He's not stupid by any stretch, but his forte is brawn...strong, powerful and physical. She's not weak, but her area of expertise is brain...brilliant, intelligent, and mental. Together I thought they had a wealth of material to use for story lines. Thank goodness for fanfiction.

CSI: Miami - Horatio & Calleigh - These two? I just loved the interaction between them. The respect and trust shown clearly in every scene they appeared in. They had a sense of lightness and solid connection that I never felt between him and anyone else...except maybe Alexx, but that was a different type of relationship altogether.

Leverage - Eliot & Parker - Fun, provocative, and crazy all in one brilliant package. These two have a depth to them and a darkness to their characters that calls to me. Of the five members of Leverage, these two and Nate seem to have the greatest potential for a deadly ending. The two of them give the impression they have seen the depths to which human beings can sink, and they are trying to ride the fine line between "bad" and "wrong". While you would think I'd pair them with "lighter" partners for balance, I don't think it works well for them. I think they need someone who understands, who has seen and knows how to come in close or back off when needed.

The Muppets - Kermit & Piggy - eh? Just because!!
